Second Wirral Arrowe Park hospital worker treated for swine flu

"I kept ringing the doctors and the helplines, but nothing was getting done.

"I was so worried in the end that I rang Arrowe Park Hospital out of hours and somebody came to our house at 11pm on Wednesday and tested her.

"She found out on Friday that she had swine flu.

"I couldn’t believe we’d been left for so long – I was so annoyed.

"The main thing now, though, is she is getting better and is on the Tamiflu medication.

"The rest of our family who have come into contact with her, including myself, are now also on the medication as a precaution."

A Health Protection Agency spokesman said: "We can't comment on individual patients. But we're satisfied that appropriate clinical decisions were taken with respect to the case the ECHO asked us about."

So far, there are 43 confirmed cases of swine flu in the North West with eight new cases reported this weekend.
