SUTTON KERSH is to offer 91 lots at its property auction in Liverpool tomorrow – Tuesday, April 3.The firm will be hoping to continue the momentum from its February event where there was standing room only and more than £4.3m was raised.Bidding starts at 12 noon in the Marriott Hotel in Liverpool city centre .Among the properties up for grabs is a four-storey Grade II-isted Georgian town house in Pilgrim Street in the city centre.The student accommodation is currently let by way of an assured shorthold tenancy at a rent of £31,500 per year.The property is situated on the junction of Pilgrim Street and Mount Street and will be offered as the final lot of the day with a guide price of £295,000.Sutton Kersh’s February auction was the best in Merseyside since September 2009.Recent statistics regarding the UK auction market published by Essential Information Group painted a positive picture for the national auction market with the overall sale rate of 72.7% up by 5% on February 2011, the total realised up by 12% to £400m.There were almost 4,000 lots offered – the largest February volumes since 2008.Cathy Holt, auction manager at Sutton Kersh, said: “We have seen strong improvements in both the supply and demand of auction property over the last six months.“This year in particular has started incredibly well.
