The World of Birds (+27 (0)21 790 2730), Africa's biggest bird park with over 3,000 birds and small animals, is a must for all the family. Get a close-up view of how they feed, sing, display, socialise, build nests and incubate eggs right before your eyes.

The Iziko Planetarium (+27 (0)21 481 3900) is one of only a handful in Africa. Inside the dome auditorium the night sky is recreated so whatever the weather outside, the planetarium sky is always clear.

For the adventurous, visit City Rock indoor climbing centre (+27 (0)21 447 1326 ) where children aged five and above can discover the fun and excitement of climbing. Induction lessons are taught throughout the week and for the more experienced climber there is a lead climbing area.
